To cleanse all homes of filth and dirt,
And keep the microbes and germs alert. ^

Under old time conditions you would always say,
How I dread to think of housecleaning day;
But now it la different. for such work is play,
Thanks to the inventor of Radium Spray.
Radium Spray, thou Radium Spray,
Disinfects, deodorizes, and, by the way.
It kills fleas on does and lice cm chickens,
And bedbugs hate it like the dickens.
Just spray your henroosts now and then.
You will see big Improvements in every old hen;
And in Summer it will make you glad,
If you spray the rooms where flies aro bad.
Kills flies in barns and in cow stables;
It will keep the flies from all your tables;
Kills cockroaches, ants and waterbugs,
Aud keeps the moths out of carpets and rugs.
Cleans bathtubs, toilets and painted wall,
Cleans woodwork, furniture, and that isn't all—
It cleans silverware, oooking utensils and greasy kettles,
Cleans dirt and tarnish from all the metals.
In Springtime, when furs are packed away,
Just spray them gently with Kadium Spray.
In the sick room, where the air i3 bad,
Radium Sprjiy makes the patient feel mighty glad.
In halls and cellars, and in the hotel,
Microbes and germs will go "pell mell"
When Radium Spray is used each day;
Your hotel guests will each morning say:
"I slept mighty fine in that room last night,
The air was so sweet and pure and light;
You can Just mark me down for another night."
Radium SpTay is an insurance policy against disease;
The hayfever patient will cease to sneeze,
And the asthma patient will never wheeze;
Just spray their rooms and they'll rest with ease.
And now dear reader, enough is said;
Don't wait until your friends are dead—
Use Radium Spray in the home each day.
Will make your life seem light and gay.
Tell your neighbors you've fallen out with sorrow,
For the Radium man will call tomorrow
And take your orders on your nearest store,
Then your troubles are ended forever more.
Ask your grocer for Radium Spray.

Mr. Patrick Casey, If you please!
With an easy Bwlng, and blush-
ing, Mr. Casey walked up to
the pan In the third inning yesterday
with his war club firmly grasped In
his two brawny hands. Saveland had
Just tied the score by Biugleing to
left and sending Noyes In, and was
resting calmly on second. iMr.
Casey looked Robinson's benders over
carefully, then selected a nice Btraight
shoot.
Hiftl
The fans started to yelling. How-
ard started running. In a second the
center fielder stopped, threw up his
hands In deBpair, for the sphere had
sailed over the center field fence. A
few seconds later Saveland and
Casey crossed the home plate with the
winning runs.
Joe Severns, a patriotic fan, Jump-
ed from his seat and began taking
up a collection. The funs dug. Now
Mr. Calsey Is richer by $15.40, as
that was the amount collected.
Several times later In the game both
teams had men on second and third,
but good pitching and brilliant field-
ing prevented any runs.
The Panthers scored the first tally
in their half of the third when Mor-
ris singled und went to third on Rob-
inson's blngle. White dropped Coyle's
fly and the husky manager for the
visitors crosBed the pan.
The visitors were never dangerous
again until the ninth Inning, when
a dark cloud rolled over the park.
With one down, Howard singled and
went to third on a two-bagger by
Snapp. Morris was an easy out and
by good work on Young's part, How-
ard was compelled to remain on the
third stop. Kitchen was substituted
for Green. The fans wanted Kitchen
passed, but Young showed his baseball
nerve by shoving them over the pan
and the'"mighty" slammed the ozone

HOW ABOUT THAT
PROTEST, MR. ALLEN?
"It Is hard to see how McMahon s
assault on Dlt Spencer at Oklahoma
City can get by. The peppery Waco
third-Backer overstepped the bounds
and it is up to Allen to mete out. the
punishment that Reeves McKay re-
ceived. The rule admits nf no dodging
and It is up to the president. At the
same time, he has that San Antonio
matter to Bettle. It's dollars to dough-
nuts that had Pat Newnam pushed
the umpire with his little finger last
week at Waco he would have drawn
$50 and thirty days so suddenly It
would have made his head swim," says
the Houston PoBt.

just how serious the injury is. The
P. L. has been out of the game for
some time as the result of a buzzing

tor Suggs hit him with a pitched ball.

GOVERNING CHILDREN
By WINIFRED BLACK.
You've been 111, and now that you
are up and around you find that your
four children have gone entirely be-
yond your authority. .
They are, you nay, noisy, dlsobe-
dlont and wild; scarcely a day goes by
but you have to whip one of them,
and every time that happens you go
back to bed half flick again; the
neighbors aro beginulng to talk, and
you don't know what to do.
Poor little mother, that's always the
way with the little rascals who hold
our hearts In the hollow of their bUBy
hands. Two weeks of Illness, even a
few days of preoccupation, and, whiff,
the authority you've been taking cam
of as a grocar takes caro of a basket
of fresh eggs Is gone, and It looks as
If It were gone forever.
But it isn't; It's only away on a va-
cation let's send a telegram and get
It home again—right away.
How? By whipping? Well, the
whipping doesn't seem to be doing
'much good right now, does It? 1 don't
"believe it e*pr does much real good
myself. Let's try another way.
What's the oldest, child, a girl?
Good. Take that girl Into your room,
shut the door and all down and have
a. heart to heart talk with her. Tell
her how 111 you hare been and how
worried you are about the children;
tell her the neighbors are saying you
are a poor mother, and you know she
cannot boar to have her mother so
pfloken of. Tell her you've noticed how
she's growing up and how womanly
and bright she Is; tell her you're
proud of her soft hair and her bright
es and her sweet, gentle manner,
and tell her you need her now as you
never needed her In your life. Talk
over the youngsters with her; get her
to see their good points; rouse her
family pride, the honest pride in an
honest name, and the first thing you
know that little girl of yours will be
your light arm, and a good, strong
right arm, too.
A boy? That's better even.
Boys love to boss and hate to be
bossed Slake that boy the boss of
the children; tell him you're weak and
111 and can't get along without his
,oln; tell him you see how manly I1
getting to be; say something about
his muscle and his good shoulder, and
tell him you need him to lean on
Get him interested In his brothers and
sisters; talk them over with him.
Mary Is quick-tempered, how shall
we manage that? Johnny Is a run-
away, what's the best means to keep
Ihlm at home? Little Katherlne is
always getting Into quarrels with the
neighbor's children, how shall we stop
that? "We," remember, not I. Take
the boy in as your partner; make him
feel that he's man and that you ex-
pect a man's strength and eouvage and
self-denial from him. It. will make the
tears come to your eyes to see how
quickly he will shoulder the responsi-
bility.
The worst of the lot? Very likely ;
tfcat's why you want to get him on

By REV. THOMAS B. GREGORY.
The "Philosophy of Health," by Dr.
South wood Smith, of England, was
published seventy-eight years ago.
Fourteen hundred and ninety years
before Christ, Moses published a phil-
clsing around the track and the
dockers say that some fine time has
been made. The locftl track is con-
sidered one of the classiest In the
country and with such a fine lot of
horses on hand the chances are that
any number of new records will be
hung out before the racing meet Is
over.
There will be at least three ear
loads of thoroughbreds in this week
from l/>uiftville bringing the total up
to something over three hundred, or
enough to insure one of the classiest
