Evan Williams, the gTeat Welsh
tenor who created such a sensation
at the Cincinnati and Worcester Festi-
vals last spring has been engagers
one of the stars for the musical fes-
tival to be held at Oklahoma City,
May 12th and 13th. With the single
exception of Caruso no other tenor
in America is quite in the same class
with Evan Williams. He sang glori-
ously a few years ago, but he quit
singing for two years, went back to
his native Wales for a good, long rest,
and now he has come back to us with
a voice more beautiful than ever. No
tenor in this country works harder than
Evan Williams. This winter he ha3
been Binglng an average of four en
gagements a week. He has sung all
over the country from Maine to Texas
and has everywhere been received with
the greatest enthusiasm. In addition
tc his concert work, his contract with
the Victor Phonograph Co., has also

Williams records are sold by them
than of any other singer, not even
excepting Caruso.
One reason why Mr. Williams hns
gained such a warm place In the af
fection of Afliorican audiences is pe-
haps because he sings in English, the
language which all can understand.
To hear him sing the great aria from
Gounod's "Queen of Sheba," "Lend
me Your Aid," with full orchestral ac-
companiment, is the treat of a life-
time, while his singing of tho beau-
tiful Welsh air, "All Through tho
Night" Is a most delightful experi-
ence. ^
Patrons of the Victor Herbert Music
Festival are to be congratulated upon
the fact that they are to have an op-
portunity to hear this famous singer.
The entire organization of Victor Her-
bert's famous orchestra, including local
artists of world renown, the famous,
all-star quartette and sextetto will be
on the program at the Auditorium on
May 12, 13 and matinee Saturday aft-
ernoon.

on the condition of the bank guaran-
tee fund, up to January 30, 1911,
made at the Instance of the state
bankers association, by Young &
Gompany of Kansas City, has been
made public here. This is the re-
port that has been kept secret so
long. According to the report as
made by the experts it is Impossible
to give the true condition of the fund
because many of the records pertain-
ing to it have disappeared, and there
seems to be no record kept of some
of the transactions. Many of the re-
cords are incomplete. "We have
found no intelligible records prior to
March, 1910," says the report, "at
