of the all-star athletic show which is
touring the country, is reaping a golden
harvest from his performances, there are
others who are on the losing end <>f the
proposition. Jeffries has been clearing

From a sourse which must be taken as
authoritative it was learned yesterday that
In few of the cities in which Jeffries has
shown have the local promoters made
money, owing to their high bids to *e^

them have lost money. This was particu-
larly true in New Orleans, where the men
who" promoted the performance gave up
several hundred dollars for the honor of
so doing.
The oklahoma City stop was a bit disas-
trous.
In St. Louie there was "about an even
bleak" for the promoters. This. It was
claimed, was due to the fact that the po-
lice officials refused to allow Jeffries to
"'in Milwaukee the same story fits the
case, and coin of the realm was lost. The
performance on New Year's night at the
Coliseum here barely escaped being a los-
ing venture for the promoters. Close to
