Caption: "Seared Debris was all that was left of the St. Robert's Bellarime Catholic Church in Jones after flames gutted the $25,000 building early Friday. Almost all religious objects were destroyed. Residents, awakened at 6 a.m., saved the pews and a few of the objects. A new $20,000 annex and kitchen did not burn, but were badly damaged by water. Residents said they intend to clean up the annex and use it as a sanctuary until they can rebuild their church. It was the only Catholic church in Jones. Fire trucks from Oklahoma City, jones and Choctaw battled the blaze for an hour before it was brought under control."

The car, parked behind the Guthrie police station, was set afire, apparently by an arsonist, shortly after midnight Tuesday, police said. "We've got a suspect in mind," Guthrie Police chief Leroy Sears said. "He was arrested two days ago on drug possession and also had a lot of traffic tickets," the police chief said, adding the suspect had phoned in threats...........Night dispatcher Kenneth Hirzel said he heard a door slam outside the station about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday. The car was demolished within minutes, Chief Sears said. "The fire station's only half block away. That car burned in just a matter of minutes," he said. A shotgun on an electronically controlled rack melted and $2,000 worth of radar and radio equipment was charred, he added."

"The river report figures still are not complete. The 51,000 acre feet estimate was hurriedly compiled. We are very hopeful that a more detailed analysis and unreported rains will increase the amount to where we can expect the lakes to be completely filled," he said. First 'Full' Estimate This was the first time city officials have admitted the possiblity the two lakes, which were short 59,000 acres feet of water before runoff from the rains below Canton dam began pouring into the lakes early Friday night be completely filled."

Moses Schilling, operator of Capitol Hill Operating Co., who sent the cabs into service, declined to reveal if the drivers were members of the striking union. The other two companies tied up to the stricke, Yellow Cab and ABC, failed to get their service resumed as planned. All three had announced they would resume service at 9 a.m. Resumption of service has been demanded of all three by the city. Violence Avoided Schilling's token resumption of operationd came shortly after 10 a.m., following a number of false starts and stops. The action was taken without violence as the cabs moved through the picket line. But it brought hot words from Gloyd Davidson, union business agent. He demanded of Chief og Police Roy Bergman that officers, standing by at all three locations, inspect the city liscense of all drivers taking to the streets. While a policewman and union members stand by. Capitol Hill taxis resume token operation."
