THE BALL GAME.
Large Gathering of Workingmen and
Business Alen Meet at City Hall
and Appoint Committee.
At the request of a committee from
the laboring bodies of Hobart, Presi-
dent Benedict of the Commercial
League called a mass meeting at the
city hall Friday night.
About one huadred responded, and
the meeting was orderly from start to
finish.
Mr. Benedict called the meeting to
order. The constitution and bylaws of
the Commercial League require that
there be present 25 members of the
League to constitute a quorum, and
that number not being there, the gath-
ering was turned into a mass mesting.
Mr. Benedict was unanimously chosen
chairman of the meeting, and R. R.
Rhorer, secretary of the Commercial
League, was elected secretary without
a dissenting rote.
Several who were present made nica
little talks regarding the importation
of negro labor into Hobart, and a mo
tion was made to appoint a committee
of 9ix to wait on the oil mill people
The chair appointed Messrs. Holcomb,
Gresham and Rhorer iu behalf of the
Commercial League, and Messrs. Wil-
kinson, Mayes and Metts in behalf of
the laboring people.
The cimmittee will report at a meet
ing Monday night at the city hall.

Another Good Statement.
Hobart banks are certainly in a most
flattering condition. The statement of
the First National shows deposits of
$148 266.00, with loans of $58,304.50.
The earnings show up in excellent shape
and the overdrafts are small. Hobart
has four national banks, and prospects
for another with a capital stock of

High Shool Nine Defeated in Practice
Game With First Team.
Tbe failure of the Mountain Park
ball team so show up Friday did not
preventthe First team and the High
school boys from playing a good work
out and practice game at the fair
grounds.
Both nines played well, but the expe-
rienced players and heavy weight of
Johnston's team was too much for the
scholastic nine, and they were defeated
on a narrow margin of three runs, al
though a tierce and hard game was
made by the school boys, who came
very near taking first place in Hobart
base ball.
Final score was 10 to 7 in favor of the
Johnston team.
Manager Johnston is getting a strong
aggregation together, and when a little
more team work is done by them, they
will be ready to meet all teams of the
southwest.
Sunday they will go to Anadarko,
where a game is to be played.

LADIES' AID.
The regular meeting of the Ladies
Aid of the First Presbyterian church
was held Thursday afternoon at the
church, with special exercises in honor
of Mrs. Ralph R. Rhorer, who met with
the society for the last time, after
nearly live years of active membership.
Mrs. Rhorer will leave Monday for
Bloomington, Ind., and the ladies of
Hobart made this the occasion for the
expressing their recognition and ap-
preciation of her labors.
Resolutions of considerable length
were passed commending Mrs. Rhorer,
and we regret that lack of space pre-
vents us from publishing them in full.
The hosts of friends of Mrs. Rhorer
will learn with regret that she is about
to leave Hobart,
Baby Thelma Very Low.
Baby Thelma, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. D. C. (Jlark, is reported very ill
and not eipected to recover. Every-
thing possible is being done for the lit-
tle oce, and the many friends of the
family all hope for a most speedy re-
covery.

Untold Suffering and Constant

Dreadful Complaint, Infantile Ec-

MOTHER PRAISES
CUTICURA REMEDIES
"Our baby had that dreadful com-
plaint, Infantile Eczema, which afflicted
him for several months, commencing at
the top of his head, and at last covering
his whole body. His sufferings were
untold and constant misery, in fact,
there was nothing we would not have
done to have given him relief. The
family doctor seemed to be wholly
incapable of coping with the case, and
after various experiments of his, which
resulted in no benefit to the child, we
sent to Mazon, 111., to a druggist and got
a lull set of the Cutieura Remedies and
applied a? per directions, and he began
to improve immediately, and in about
three or four days began to show a
brighter spirit and really laughed, for
the first time in a year. In about ninety
days he was fully recovered, with the
exception of a rough skin, which is
gradually disappearing, and eventually
will be replaced by a healthy one.
"Praise for the Cutieura Remedies
has always been our greatest pleasure,
and there is not hing too good that we
could say in their favor, for they cer-
tainly saved our baby's life, for he was
the most awful sight that I ever beheld,
prior to the treatment of the Cutieura
Remedies. Mrs. Maebelle Lyon, 1826
