How did yon like .your Valen-
tine?
Aie you watching Fairland
grow?
It takes Fairland to get out a
big crowd, doncherknow.
The demonstration train was
a very tittin<>- Valentine for our
people.
It has been demonstrated that
you can't bank on every Hank
report you hear. •
We might forget that we were
becoming city tied if we didn't
have a sale cracking once in
awhile.
Several new resident a:;d busi
ness houses are being talked of
this spring. Keep au tye on
Fairland.
Of course the News didn't have
anything to do with getting out
that crowd Tuesday. They just
happened to all come to town
that day very likely.
As usual, some will say that
the demonstration train was a
grand thing, ivhile others can't
see anything in it but a reckless
waste of the people's money.
Funny isn't it?
Washington's birthday next
Wednesday. The old cheiry
tree racket will be 'doubtless be
rehashed, but that doesn't mean
every American boy is going to
believe it by any means.
Just about every one is get-
ting in favor of returning to our
incorporation and electing a full
set of town officers this spring.
But remember that the primaries
must be held in next month and
that applications must be made
for places on the ticket not less
than ten days before the prima-
ry election. In iust a few mori-
days, it will again be too late.
If we act at all, we must do so
quickly.

A. G. BUSH,
Rev. \V. T. Cummins of Seneca,
delivered his lecture at the Chris-
tian church-last Friday ni^ht as
announced in the News. A good ^
sized congregation was out to
hear the fundamental principles >
of the order discussed. Bro.!
Cummins showed the relatiou!
of the lodge to the church—that
the church was first and above
all institutions, and that Odd
Fellowship stepped in where the|
church stopped, and only seen
after the moral and temporal
welfare of man, leaving the spir-
itual entirely to the church. The
speaker mixed enough "spice"
in bis remarks to give it a good
flavor, and everyone seemed toj
enjoy it Very much.
