Meets in Cope Home
Seventeen members answered roll
call witn "A Memorable Thanksgiv-
ing” when the Woman's Culture
club met Friday afternoon In the
home of Mrs. M. B. Cope, 634 South
Ellison.
It was reported during the meet-
ing that foreign contribution to the
American Thanksgiving is the or-
ganization of the united nations.
Mrs. B. E. Carder, president, pre-
sided during the meeting.
Those in attendance were Mrs.

of the First Christian church held
their regular Friday quilting meet-
ing and covered dish luncheon at
the church.

for the meeting and the devotionals

ess when the cradle roll department
of the Trinity Lutheran church en-
tertained with a Thanksgiving
party Thursday afternoon at the
church.
Mrs. Charles Johnson and Mrs.
Lawrenze Nuse were assistant host-
esses.
A reading entitled, “Mothers, To-
day and Yesterday," was given by
Mrs. Roy Elchor. Mrs. Lawrenze
Wiedeman was Awarded the prize
In a contest, "Babies in Our Con-
gregation."
Autumn leaves, fruits, vegetables
and candles were used in the deco-
rations for the refreshment table
and favors were presented to the
children.

Pin for Attendance
Mrs. Ward Freeman received the
attendance pin when the Christian
Women's fellowship of the First
Christian 'church held the general
meeting Thursday afternoon at the
church.
The meeting opened with the
group singing "Savior Like a Shep-
herd Lead Us," and prayer was of-
fered by Mrs. O. R. Romine. Miss
Minnie Connolly presented certifi-
cates of award to several members
who had qualified for reading
books.
It was announced the Union
Thanksgiving service will be held
at 10 a. mi Thursday at the
church.
The meeting closed with the mis-
sionary benediction.

honor new members when the
Woman's Society of Christian

Christian Service of the Wesley
Methodist church met Thursday in
the church parlor for the regular
business session.
The dinner will be served at 1
o’clock, Dec. 13, in the church
dining room. The hour of prayer
and meditation wfll be at 11 a. m„
the same day. The Society's gue^t
day tea scheduled for Nov. 29,
has been cancelled.
It was announced the women of
the church will supply cakes for
the Veteran's hospital on Nov. 3C.
It was also announced circle 6 will
furnish flowers for church services
during the month of December
The topic of T nursday’s program
was "Christian Missions and
Human Rights" with Mis. W. B.
Blanton serving as worship leader
and Mrs. Dick Cole, program lead-
er.
The group sang several hymns,
directed by Mis. Nell Burmeier, with
Mrs. Ernest Hicks playing the ac-
companiment. The group repeated
the Lord's Prayer. Mrs. Lillie
Fssley opened the busines meeting
by offering prayer, followed by a
silent meditation.
A social period followed the busi-
ness session with circle 4 serving
as hostesses.

Hold Meeting in Church
The General Society of Woman's
Work of the First Presbyterian
church met Thursday in the din-
ing room of the church for the
Annual Praise Service luncheon at
1 o'clock, preceded by an executive
board meeting at 12:30 p.m.
The program, under the direc-
tion of Mrs. Thompson Gilbert, In-
cluded several selections by the
El Reno highschocl girls’ triple
trio. The GSWW trio comnosed of
Mrs. C. W. Hinshaw, Mrs. E. P.
Butts and Mrs. Marvin Biswell,
presented two numbers.
Mrs. W. T. Reynolds gave the
devotional and short talks were
given by Mrs. Earle Garrison, Mrs.
Charles O Neal and Mrs. W. L.
Broady on "Channels of Power."
Newly elected officers will be In-
stalled at the next meeting.

Hold Dinner Thursday

met Thursday night at the Amer-
ican Legion hall for a covered dish
dinner.
After the dinner, the colors;
were advanced and the group re- I
peated the pledge of allegiance and
sang the national anthem.
Mrs. John Fitch reviewed the
book “The Reluctant Angel," by
Ennen Reaves Hall, and Mrs. Nell
i Burmeier sang “It Is No Secret
j What God Can Do," accompanied
by Mrs. Opal Shackelford.
The next regular meeting of the j
auxiliary will be Dec. 6 and the
next Joint meeting will be a
Christmas party on Dec. 20.

Trinity WMU Program
Mrs. W. J. Wells was in charge
of the program, "Pilgrimage to
Spanish America," when the Wom-
en's Missionary Union of the Trin-
ity Baptist church met Thursday
at the church for an all-day meet-
ing.
Mrs. I. N. Freeman presented the
devotional and others tailing part
on the program were Mrs. George
Barth, Mrs. Cleon Winslow, Mrs.
Garland Anderson. Mrs. M. R.
Bayne, Mrs. Homer Reidling, Mrs.
Imogene Evans and Mrs. Berle
Swaggerty.
The meeting opened at 9:30 a m.
with the group singing "America.”

during the day.
