Mrs. Matt Gaasch went to the Meth-

ation for tumor. Her many friends here
hope for her speedy recovery. it has
been suggested that the ladies of Coyle
give her a postcard shower.
erybody in town is trying to keep up
their business and farm a little on the
side. Things have simmered down to
] the proposition of resorting to farming
or quit eating and most of us have not
yet gaired the habit of going without
I our daily allowance of grub.
The first cutting of alfalfa will be on
now in a week or two when the desper-
ate feed situation will be relieved. Our
farmers should plant every available acre
to alfalfa as this is one thing that can be
depended upon and is a great help in
getting over a poor crop year. Those
who have no suitable alfalfa ground will
find sweet clover and Sudan good sub-
stitutes.
News is awfully scarce these days, in
fact, “there ain’t no such animal.’’ Ev-
Reports say that this country will be
several million bushels short of a normal
crop of wheat this year. It does not
take a very far seeing man to see that
wheat bread substitutes and other eat-
ables must be pushed to the limit. Ka-
fir corn ftour will help some and will fill
in mighty good as stock grain. No mat-
ter how prejudiced you are against kafir,
ant some this year.

Report of The Condition of
The sickening, nauseating feeling that
follows the use of calomeTis the natu-
ral result of disarranging your entire
system. Doctors everywhere are agree-
ing that the action of ealomel is much
too strong, and leaves the body sick and
weakened.
LIV-VER-LAX is a wonderful substi-
tute for calomel, that has all of its good
effects and none of its bad ones. It acts
soothingly but thoroughly on the liver,
'cleansing it of bile, and ridding the en-
tire system of stagnating poisons.
• LIV-VCK-LAX is strictly a harmless
vegetable compound, and is guaranteed
