In several of the larger New York no-
tels: To make three and a half dozen
muffins take one quart milk, alx ounces
butter substitute, twelve ounces of
light syrup or honey, four egg*. ..Inch
of salt, two ounces huklng powder,
one and a hnlf pounds comment and
one and a half pounds rye flour. The
butter and ayrup should he thoroughly
mixed; then add the eggs gradually.
Pour In the milk and add the rye flour
mixed wltb comineal and baking pow-
der.

in the war, by the Food Ad-
ministration buying one-third
of the output of the mills and
shipping it to those people
who are doing the fighting.
T here is sufficient wheat to
last with wheat less days until
harvest if everyone follows
the rnles of the Administra-
tion, but there will probably
lx* a shortage if they do not.

with a special price on them
for that day, thereby selling
a valuable substitute for oth-
er foods.
