West was the chief witness in the
Powers trial today. She was stenogra-
pher for the auditor of state and was
was in his private office when Goebel
was killed. She heard three shots
from the direction of the secretary of
state's office. She testified that no one
seemed surprised that Goebel had been
assassinated.

met in primary causus this afternoon
and selected the following delegates
to attend the county eonvention: H

Jack Backus; alternates. W. G. Barn.

structed for Capt. John T. Taylor for
national committeeman. The primary
