The Grandest Opening of All.
The grand opening of the Chicka
sha Milling Company yesterday wns
nn opening to please everybody.
Messrs. Suilon.Nieliols and Mtinioe
wore busy welcoming the guests mid
showing them the process of making
flour from time tho wheat left the
sixty thousand bushel elevator
through all the elevators to the
rolls through cleaners scalpers
scourers to the rolls and sifters
dusters and bolls and finally into
the packers.
This wns nearly all dumb show
The wheels were all going the belts
flying and the great engine throb-
bing but no wheat was running into
the rolls. It was merely the first
starting to test the machinery and
allow visitors to see tho process
The casual observer could realize as
much in seeing it thus as if in the
actual opcrationsoJ making flour.
There may be a timidity in start-
ing such a vast amount of nmchin-
ery as is found here and well there
may be but in this caee there were
no changes to make no stoppages
nor halts. Every wheel turned
right every belt and pally was cor-
rect and from the first revolution
of the big engine in the early morn-
ing until C in the afternoon the
great mill run as steady and
smoothly as a watch.
The machinery is all new and of
the very latest improved pattern
and with the knowledge of his btisi
ne38 the milJcr Jlr. Nichol assures
us that no flour can bo belter than
the Chickasha Mills can and will
make.
The vtsitors were plenty and were
highly pleased and the grand open-
ing will prove a good drawing card
for the mill and make Chickasha
flour the demand of the ladies of
the city. -

try i . .
Alio townsite commission is too
slow. To await that coming is to
wait forever. Chickasha wanls
an immediate settlement and to
get it the quickest way is for the
city to make its own plat.
The towns of Duncan and Hush
Springs are kicking" over the out

claiming tho same as too small and
too 'irregular. Tho newspapers

The smallest baby ever born in
the Territory is reported id the
home of John Casey near Ft Gibson.
It is eight inches in length and a
eomon linger ring slips on its arm
to the shoulder.- At last report it

In spite of its profusion of booze
parlors Granite has always been
a tame and well regulated ton
but Monday it broke loose with a
record of fi ve lights. A couple of
miner or preliminaries then a big
rauroadrr called "Klohdyke" 'rot
funny in the Dixie'store. Denu'v
Cole tried to arrest him but lost
his gan. Then Joe Mills hit him
under tho ear with the hard side
of a six shooter: Another small
scrap then thj big thing came off
when Wilson called Uncle Hock
Douglas a hard name Uncle Eock
had too much Tenneseee blood
and Granite booze in him to stand
it nnd took a shot at him bat for--turiately
for both his aim was poor
aud it only cost him 2..
Oh no we don't need incorpor
