Easter.
As Easter was approaching Tim thought within himself
"Just think $30.00! Nay! his Reverence may throw in $40
or $45 he is that generous. He spends everything on the
Church and in Charity. I hope he will come to-day." But
then Oh! the usual sermon! How I dread that." Well
Easter came and past but no visit from the pastor. Tim
was in an embarassing position. On the one hand he nee-
ded the money for his "week out" display on the other
hand he dreaded an interview with his pastor. Low Sun-
day had past and Tim resolved at allhazzards to call at
the Rectory. He was received very cordially asked to be
seated and rest himself. "I am delighted to see you. Tim
indeed it is a rare sight to see you at the Rectory" said
the pastor smilingly. Your Reverence is more than kind
replied Tim who by this time was overheated and made pro-
fuse exhibitions of his silk handkerchief. "Well father I have
come to ask your Reverence to" How is that excel-
lent Tim? Well enough. Sir but work is dull and I have
come to"
' 'You are quite over-heated and in danger of catching
cold. I had better close these windows. " "Oh! please do
not go to all this trouble. Father I came to ask you for
the " "You see drafts are very dangerous in this
season and there are so many suffering from pneumonia
in the parish just now." "Yes! Yes! that is what I hear
but I have come to claim my money" "What money!"
asked his Reverence. "Why the money for the cassock I
made for your Reverence in January and you promised to
pay me at Easter." Ah! Yes I now remember why did
you not come sooner? Faith Easter is past now and with
your permission I promise to pay you next Easter. ' '

tor. He opened his wide eyes and was not sure that he
