Mrs. Tarkington mr Toupain came here to assist at her son's first
Communion. Little did she then suspect that three days after she would be
brought back to the same place a corpse.
'I heresia Toupain belonged to a staunch Catholic Indian family. Six
vears ago .she became a widow with five children to care for. She raised
them all in the fear and love of God and when of age sent them to our
schools
Kind reader in your charity breathe a fervent prayer and for the de-
ceased Mother and for the five Orphans she left behind that God may
grant eternal rest to the former and console the latter. R. I. P.
On Trininty Sunday May 20. twenty-eight children mostly Indians
had the happiness of entertaining our Blessed Redeemer in their little hearts
for the first time.
Mass was celebrated at 8 A'. M. bv V. Rev. Father Prior who made
also a short address to the children. Every one present (and they were
many) hung upon the words of the speaker for he spoke from his heart
and was therefore doubly eloquent.
After Vespers the renowal of the baptismal vows the consecration to
Marv and the investment of the children in the Scapulars took place.
The Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament closed the day that will ever
live in tin memory of the twenty-eight little hearts as the brightest and the
happiest of their life.
The church had been tastefully decorated for the occasion much credit is
due our Benedictine Sisters for their tireless and continual efforts to
beautify the temple of the Most High. U. I. O. G. D.

tainment given at Wanette Okla. June 13th for the benefit of the church.
