"Whereas it is the opinion of
the membership of this Associa-
tion that a deliberate attempt
was made by designing persons
to reflect upon the good name
and reputation of Hon. Thomas
P. Gore. United States Senator
from the State of Oklahoma for
the purpose of blackmailing him
into recommending said design-
ing: parties for position' to which
they aspire. Therefore be it
"Resolved that the member-
ship of this press association ex-
tend their confidence in the in-
tegrity and high character of
Senator Gore and thill we de-
nounce the methods of designing
persons prompted by their in-
ordinnnt ambition to compel
him to endorse them or suffer
the humiliation of their vile
slanders. We commend him for
his firm stand against such rec-
omendations and his willingness
to endure the consequences of
the efforts of his enemies to de-
stroy him."

Because Senator T. P. Gore
has "stood like a stone wall"
between a gang of thieves worse
than highway robbers and the
Indians of Oklahoma and
because he had the high sense
of manhood and courage to
"turn down" a few scheming
political office seekers he be-
came the target of one the low-
est contemptible and most cow-
ardly attempts of blackmailing
by these carnivorous political
vampires ever aimed at a high
official. Their own low moral
nature caused them to misjudge
this clean great man and the
exaulted esteem in which he is
held by the American people;
consequently their filth only
acted as a boomerang upon their
own vile heads a thousand fold
completely smothering them in
their own putrid- nastiness mak-
ing them too low to be even fit
associates of the worms of the
dust. The English language
never was intended to describe
their level a decent language
could not. v
