lived with her parents at the family
home on Clear creek and is highly
respected by all. Her family Is one
of the substantial worthy ones whose
residence In the county dates back
to the pioneers days. Tho groom
while not having resided among us
for so long a time has a great many
friends hero. He Is a capable young
man.

NEW FKATUKKH OK ROAD UW
Among the new features or the
road law which It is expected to go
In operation the first of tho year
so we are advised by County Engin-
eer Ingram is the provision for road
maintenance which will ho handled
In a far more efficient -manner tha'h
In the past. Road dragging con-
tracts havo been let In the past but
no other provision made for road
maintenance. Under the new ruling
it Is expected to let contracts for
the entire maintenance as well as
tho dragging. State roads will pro
bably be appointed in 2 or 3-mllo
sections and contracts let for full
maintenance which will mean repairs
to roads culverts etc. as well as
dragging. It Is the Intention so we
understand to make these new con-
tracts about February 1st. Call for
bids will bo published In this paper
later. Watch for the notice.
HTILL AT IT
When It comes to sale bill printing
or any other kind of printing for that
matter The Herald shop Is right
there. During tho public sale seaeon
this shop Is crowded nearly every
day with orders for salo bills and
the beauty of it all is that we deliver
the goods when they are wanted
"Servico" Is our watchword nnd it Is
tho rarest Instance Indeed when it
customer of this shop does not get
his job of printing just when he
wants tt. With tho present shortage
of help this kind of service would
bo absolutely out of the question
wero It not for tho tact that this
ship Is equipped to handle all print
ing large or small and turn out the
finished job practically "whllo you
wait." It has cost this offlco some
money to be so equipped more
than Is Invested by tho average news-
paper shop but wo believe that
whatever is worth doing at all Ib
worth doing well and we couldn't
handle the business promptly without
proper equipment. Next time you
want that hurry-up Job try this or
flee for service.

I am looking over my labor
Ily the light nf the setting sun:
For I see by the length'ning shadows.
That my day Is nearly done.
My work for the blessed Master
IK drawing toward Its close;
For less have I done In the vineyard
Than I hoped when the morning
rose.
And yet while the daylight lingers
I will work as well as I may;
Nor waste the remaining moments
Regretting a misspent dny.
And O! If now In the vineyard

As nearer the gataway I sand.
