The new order of parking cars in the
r.mi Idle of the street was put. into effect
Mopday. We huve not feeen able to
learn just exactly how it happened
but are under the impression that
some wide awake citizen of a live town
where they DO things drove into town
early and these being no other' cars on
the street and seeing that Beaver
looked like a wide-awake live town
thought that such a ruling was in effeot
here of course and accordingly parked
his car in the middle of the street and
others coming in later followed suite.
Whether this was the way it happened
or not. there is no question but that
center of the street parking is the only
proper thing to do and we .trust that
the good start made Monday will be
continued.
LAST NUMBER OF LYCEUM COURSE.
Francis J. Gable appeared at the
uiooe Monday night in the last num
ber of the winter's lyceum course. He
delivered a lecture on "Liars;" and .his
discourse was good from beginning to
end and was mueh enjoyed -by all
There is' not much doubt but that the
vast majority of his hearers were hit
more or less by his remarks but the
chances are thai they will go right on
lleing in the same old way. if one
wanted to tell the naked truth the
publio woald not permit it. .Newspa-
pers for instance. Think of a newspa-
per publishing everything just as it
actually happens I About one issue

NEW CR&K SCHOOL MUHNC CM-
PlETtt.
The grade school children and their
teachers were made happy this week
by the completion of their new school
budding The new bnlldlng was com-
pleted last week and accepted by the
school board and school opened Mon-
day morning iu fcha new hosae. It is
one ol whlah they may be proud.
The nsw building is of brick eon
struotion two story underneath whleh.
'is a basement. Four large class rooms
I occupy the Hret floor on the see-
snd there are two class rooms aa
auditorium with stage built in aad
dressing room and the supcriutead
ent'e office. A large gymnasium a
play room and the ftffMe room are
located in the basement. The build
ing is modern throughout being equip
ped with (eam heat electric lights
and water. Drinkiag fountains will be
installed on each floor. Lavatories
shower bath and toilets will be located
.in the basement with adequate cess
pool coaneotion to take care -ol the
sewage. The building will cost
$1TKW.OO. n
The new building together with
the
excellent high school building which
wis erected a few years ago provide
homes for our schools for sometime to
come. The rapid growth of Beaver
the past year has greatly crowded our
schools but with the new building now
complete school facilities are greatly
improved.
It costs Beaver nq small sum of
money to build equip and maintain
our schools but the people here are
publie spirited and believe in advance
metit'and education and are not miser-
ly in matters of civic good We trust
that the best use may be made of the
facilities at hand and that our boys
and girls may be made better and wiser
men and.-women because of. what the
Beaver school is making possible for
them

.A bunch of solicitors for some sort
of a farm journal have been infesting
BeaverjthU wefk'They haveWtaj on
the ridewalkt arid hare' hailed ' all
pasers-by ottering them maps spec-
tables and what-not as a premium in
connection with the subscription to
the paper. They may have a bonaftda
nronosltion but the best information
thatVe can .secure of such solicitors is
that those who patronize them gener
ally get stung. They offer a lot of
dope along with a subscription to
several papers or magazines at what
looks Jlke a bargain price get the
money and go. The reports that have
come to us is that the said papers and
premiums generally fall to materialise.
Better look a little out how you spend
your money with these ''something-
fornothing" fellows.
