A largo number of Jicaror people
went to Fureati Mnndny night to at
tend n performance given by the "Vir-
ginia Minstrels". Tho performance
was given by ''real niggurs" aud they
put on a ihow which was crfdltablo
nnd entertaining. Thuro wero about
forty negroes In tho troupe and nil of
them were good performers. Some
wore extra good. Tho band was ex-
ceptionally good and perhaps tho best
that was over heard In this seatlon
excepting of course the Denver band
which iv lu' u In training nro hard to

ceedingly largo crowds which always
attend these exercises making a pro-
cession both dllllcult and hazardous.
Instead all will meet at the cemetery
at 10 o'clock Monday morning May

orcisos will be held nnd decoration of
graves bo made. Automobile con-
veyance will bo provided for the Old
Soldiers. All others will make their
own arrangements as to conveyance.

RAILROAD BUILDING
ACTUALLY COMMENCED.
Aotnal construction work on Reaver's
railroad wan commenced last week.
At this time about ouomlloof track
lion been completed and tho work Is
progressing as rnpldly as possible.
Enough material Is on tho ground to
build three or four miles of track and
more ties and rails will arrivo Just as
soon as this much traak Is laid and
gotten In shape so future shipments of
material in 'y bo transferred to the
Braver road and thus save the long
haul of niHtorUl from tho Forgan tor-
mlnnl. Hy being nblo to unload tho
material In this way tho work of con
tructlon will on greatly facilitated
and tho completion ot the road
hastened.
With work under way to such an ex-
tent It looks like oven tho most pesil-
ir.ii llo must bo convinced now that
Beaver's railroad Is no longer a myth
or a rake. However it Ihero aro still
"Doubting Thomas' " a few more
weeks or months at tho most will
probably relieve tho distrust and prove
to the entlr satisfaction of all con
cerned that when Beavor goes after
any thins; she Is bound to get It. In the
meantime watah old Beaver spread
herself and achieve success for all
Reaver county.
J. M. CENTERS DIES SUDDENLY.
J. M. Centers who has been residing
in Beaver for the past year receiving
medical treatment for heart trouble
died suddenly at his home early Frldny
morning. While hlscondltion has ever
been considered serious nnd at no time
vas it thought that he could completely
recover yet nt tie time of his death
his condition was not apparently any
more critical than It had been forsnme
time and thus his sudden death came
as a great shock to his wlfo and the
community. At an early hour Friday
morning Mrs. Centers was aroused 'by
thu slight restlessness of her husband
nndilnqulred If h was feeling worse.
Ho assured her thnt he was not. In a
few moments she spoko to him ngaln
and receiving no reply arnso and when
she had lighted tho lanip discovered
that ho was dead.
Funeral services wero conducted at
tho Presbyterian church Saturday
afternoon under tho nu'plces of the
Odd Fellows' order of which tho de
ceased was an honored member. Rev
W. M. Hutchison pastor ot thojhuroli
preached the funeral sermon. Inter-
montwas mado In" the Douver ceme-
tery. Mr. Centers nnd wife moved to Bea-
ver about a year ago having formerly
resided in tho' vicinity of Riverside.
During their stay here they had formed
many acquaintances all of whom hold
them In the highest esteem and who
sincerely regret the Midden passing
away ot Mr. Centers. The sympathy
of all Is extended to the bereaved wife
lu her sorrow and loneliness and all
that kind friends could do to assist
and sharo with her tho burden of her
grief was alicorfully extended by
friends aud neighbors.
ADJUDGED INSANE.
Sam Shoaklay of near Balko was
examined by the Insanity Board Mon
day and as a result of thMr examina-
tion ho was committed to the state
asylum at Norman. Under Sheriff
Frank Shockley who Is a brother of
the unfortunate man accompanied the
patient to tho asylum
A GOOD CLEAN SHOW.
Norton Brothers who wore soheduled
to show lu Beaver last week were hern
Thursday and Friday nights and were
groeted with good crowds both nights
Their show Is entertaining and clean
and the managers are deserving of
patronage. They have some special-
ties in tho way c! contortionists and
trapeze performers which are hard to
beat and which ar seldom seen In tho
smaller shows. If they come your
way it will pay you to see them.

DELIVERS BACCALAUREATE SERMON.
Rev. L L. Shaw delivered the Bta-
calaureate sermon to the members of
the graduating cla of the Beavor
high school Sunday evening at the
Christian churoh. Ho rnede a splendid
address full of good thoughts and
timely suggestions which if grasped
by tho dais of 101(5 and the advice
therein contained put to practice in
future life would mean their trium-
phant mounting of the ladder of suc-
cess even to the topmost rung.

Board ot Pension Commissioners of
Oklahoma in whlah lie Is advised that
all applications for pensions undtr the
recently enacted law pensioning Indi-
gent confederate soldiers and widows
of suoh soldiers must be made through
the office ot the county judge of the
county In which the applicant resides
Confederate soldiers or widows In Ilea
yer county who are entitled to pensions

Judge Spohn who has the necessary
