Becver County Railroad.
Articles of Incorporation have been
filed in the office of the territorial
secretary for a company with a capital
stock ofmne million dollars which pro-
poses to do much for western Oklaho-
ma and for Oklahoma City inasmuch
as it will open a tine tnute territory
for the Oklahoma City wholesale deal-
' ers and manufacturers. It is the in-
I tention of this company to build a
railroad starting at Beaver in Beaver
county southeast of the Gulf through
uiiiaiionui Uity. The- project is said
to uo bucked by Kansas City capitalists

A railroad from ' BeaVer county
through Woodward. Watonga Geury
and Okluhoma City to the Gulf of Mex-
ico would be one of the best invest-
ments that Okhihoimi City could pos-
sibly make. It would complete the
hub in this city's railroad wheel and
would eventually give an outlet to the
northwest. The people of that section
huve been trying to get in touch with
Oklahoma City for nwiny years and the
fuct that there- is no northwest line
from thb city draws all the trado of
that section to Kansas and to Texas.
Business men of Beaver and Woodward
cannot do business in Oklahoma City
because o the roundabout railroad
sen ice. Tliev are comnelled to iro to
Kansas before they can come to Okla-'
honia City. Several propositions are
now pending for a northwest line from
Oklahoma City and there Is no doubt
now'but that one of these lines will be
built. It would not only open a val-.
uablo twiMorritory for the jobbing
Interests of this city but would be the
means of developing one of the richest
sections in the new" state.' This road
would tap the richest wheat bolt in
Oklahoma. "Okljihomu City needs
this line and wo need Oklahoma City
in our business" remarked a business
man this morning to a representative
of the Times-Journal. Oklahoma City
rimes-Journal September L'0 1000.
