it bo iotrwnblo for tlif county com-
missioners to investigate the bond
vote down tliere.
Almost every sectien of the coun-
ty declared for the bonds gave Fair-
fax and Hominy. Tliey defeated

Major General John Freeman,
Pest Commander Ira Mullens and
Field Officer Pat Harris lined up
the Osage vote of this precinct,
Tuesday, to a man.—Hominy News-
Republican.
Oh, yes! But will the "Major
General" be able to line up the votes
of the balance of the county later
,xi w!:en he runs for ilieriff? Ah,
there's the rub!
Foraker and her citizens have
lost nothing in their stand fer pub-
lic improvements and development
is demonstrated at the polls on the
'7th. '
By their false ambition and blind
prejudice, Hominy and Fairfax hav
set the county back, ten years in
public improvements, progress and
developement.
Of coarse Pawhuska, Foraker,
et al will all help Hominy and Fair-
faix when they want something,
because II. and F. are such
borly cusses, vou know?
neigh
Homiry and Fairfax need roads
and bridges worse than any ^>tlier
actions of the county, but it 1
•low be a cold day when they get
r'lem. Spite work never pays.
Wonder how the prospective can
didates for county office from Hom-
iny and Fairfax feel since those
t iwns took a twenty-year backward
step? Poor fellows, they are to be
pitied.
The Pawnee Times-Democrat
an industrial edition of 40
t iges laa^ week that was a credit to
both pstper and town, and must re-
sult in much good |o that thriving
little city.
Based on Tuesday's vote, Homi-
ny has a population of fourteen
hundred and fifty News-Rep.
A practical admission that, at
(east, one hundred illegal votes
were polled at the bond election.
The bridges will be built and
Fairfax and Jleminy will pay their
part of the c?r-t jnst the same. And
the chances are they will soon be
sorry that they let their prejudice
run away with their judgement.
After Pawhuska, Foraker and
)ther patriotic sections of the coun-
ty get all the fmdgqs and public
improvements tljey yant, some at-
tention can then be given the needs
of Fairfax and Hominy. It pays
to b» progressive.
It is the current report that in
Tulsa there are three saloons, or
joints, that are running all the
time, openly, becanse the owners
were granted immunity by Gover-
nor Haskell during the time of his
trial in Tulsa, following which he
was indicted fbr Muskogee town
lot frauds,.is this true?, J,t is also
true that these joint owners refuse
positively and openly to close their
places because of the fact that they
were granted immunity.

The ^efeat of the court house
and brit bonds was a serioue mis
take. It was a step backward that
will do the county inestimable
jury and that will take years te over-
come. By their defeat, we adver
tise to the Wofld that we reside in
the backwoods Without roads,
bridges oi' coilnty improvements and
are willing that such conditions
continue to exist for the nexe dec-
ade. Nothing could have done the
county greater injury.
The county commissioners are all
right, and we say slain on the taxes
and build the bridges for Pawhuska
Foraker and every other section,
where they said by their votes that
they wanted them. It will he good
medicine for Hominy and Fairfax
to help the progressive sections of
the county, and as they are oppos-
ed to bridges and other public im-
provements, it wont hurt them to
wait until the balance of the coun-
ty is supplied.
The booster adition of the Okeene
Leader last week was a plum good
<>ne. Okeene is a splendid town
and the Leader is doing its part to
keep it in the front ranks. We
congratutate Bro. Ragland on the
success of his first boom edition.
Three hundred and fifteen votes
cast in Hominy Tuesday, and sixty
five legal voters who failed to come
to the polls—News-Republican.
For heaven's sake! IIow many
illegal votes were cast in your little
burg, anyway?
Our good friend, "Billy" Ben-
nett, of Fairfax, thinks the Foraker
people are a set of d—n fools for
voting for the bonds. May be so.
•'Billy," but later on we think it
will be shown where the foolish re-
tide, and the bailiwicks will be ma-
ny miles from Foraker.
It is said that both Hominy and
Fairfax opposed the court house
and bridge bonds because they ex-
pect to become county seat towns.
How foolish forthenito be chasing

mpossible. They will not have
the requisite number of people to
make a new cojinty in the next
25 years, and if they go on rec-
ord a few more times as being op-
posed to public imjifovcrr,£nts, it
will be a hundred yfiars. Jfor^ker,
too, wants tfj be J]je capital of a
new county, |>ut ehe wi{l wait and
work for deyelopemqt^ of the coun-
ty until the propgr time comes. She
will then get if, and her southern
sisters will still be sloshing around
in the mud and canvons.
