Third Measure
Is Outlined Today
OKLAHOMA CITY Oct 15—(113)
The third measure dealing with
col porate ownership of land of Gov
William II Murray's legislative pro-
gram was made public today
The bill provided that no corpora-
tion will be allowed to own land in
the state other than that used for
the purpose for which the corpora-
tion was established
Provision was made however for
foreclosures on land to settle debts
but corporations must dispose of
such land within lu years to a per-
son and not a corpoiation Failure
to sell the land in that period of
time will cause the land to escheat
to the state
Not Allowed to Hold Land :
to toe state
Not Allowed to Hold Land
The second salient point of the bill
provided that "no corporation shall
be licensed in this state for buying
acquiAing trading' or (Waling in
real estate other than real estate lo-
cated in incorporated cities and towns
and as additions thereto"
No public service corporation would
be allowed to hold any land except
that which is necessarily for the op-
eration of its business The mea-
sure does not apply to trust compan-
ies "taking only the naked title to
real estate in this state as a trustee
to be held solely as security for in-
debtedness pursuant to such trust"
