FISHERMEN FLY 170 MILES
TO TEXOMA CATCH LIMIT
OF BASS HOME TO SUPPER
Two fishermen from Yukon 40
miles west of Oklahoma City flew
down to Lake Texoma one after-
noon last -week caught their limit
of fine bass and were back home
for supper
The story was related by Ray-
mond Hays World War II veteran
who is an ardent Texoma fisher-
man himself and is helping hun-
dreds of visitors become acquaint-
ed with and like Marshall county
The men flew around over the
!ake where Hays was fishing and
selected a landing place for their
small plane near him Their fish-
ing tackle wasn't Just what was
needed—they brought fly rods with
them—so Hays loaned them casting
rods and lures They soon caught
their limit and tJok off for home
in time to fry their fish for sup-

German water canteens are be-
ing offered as prizes to women who
make outstanding records of war
bond sales in February Mrs Chas
P Strother chairman of the wom-
ens division of the war bond com-
mittee said Wednesday
Canteens will be given the wom-
an who buys the largest bond dur-
ing the month the woman who
sells the most war bonds and the
club that sells the largest total of
bonds
American Legion Auxiliary has
taken considerable interest in the
drive and has as its goal sale of
$1150 in bonds for which name
of the Madill Auxiliary will be
placed on a bomb rack
Eastern Star chapter has idso
asked to take part in the bond
sales as well as other county or-
gsnizations of women

Eight of the inductees who re-
ported to Oklahoma City Febru-
ary 5 were accepted for navy ser-

annual school count has been

National and state war crop acre-
age and production goals have
been announced by the war pro-
duction board No county goals
have been set for any crop except
peanuts That goal is 2500 acres
and it may be exceeded if farmers
see fit to plant more
No meetings will be held in the
county for filling out the sheets
and farmers are urged to call at
the AAA office where assistance
will be provided

Pfc and Mrs Earl Williamson
Jacksonville Ark have announced
the birth of a son James Earl on
February 2 at Sherman Tex Mrs
Williamson is the former Miss Lou-
ise Brown granddaughter of Mrs
Helen Brown of Kingston and Pfc
Williamson is the son of Mr and
Mrs Bob Williamson of Jackson-
ville Ark He is stationed with
the army in England

conference since 1935 is a past di-
rector of the Walla Wall cham-
ber of commerce and has held a
number of high positions in Ro-
tary For 1944-45 he is a member of
the extension committee of Rotary
International for the western hall
of the United States and Canada
Alaska and Hawaii
Special music will be given by
Mrs Norvell Beard violinist and
Miss Lou Emma Breckenridge Du-
rant accordionist Mrs Fred
Jones Jr will play piano accom-
panitnents for Mrs Beard
Miss Dana Lynn Thompson will
sing and a surprise musical num-
ber is also promised

With Goodyear the past seven
years Mr Crittenden came here

niture here while house-hunting

beautiful balmy weather of the
week-end that Jack Smith got
to try out the new boat which he
and Bob Turner have been making
for several weeks
