The wedding occurred at 8 pm
Saturday May 24 in the First
Baptist church at Aurora with
the Rev Fred McPhail performing
the double-ring ceremony in -a
candlelight service before an altar
illuminated by two seven-branched
candlelabra holding white tapers
Mrs Ray Bass organist played
a medley of wedding music and
accompanied Mrs Billy Clayton
as she sang "Always" and "Be-
cause" The bride given in marriage by
her father wore a ballerina length
dress of white Chantilly lace over
taffeta The fitted bodice featured
a low scalloped neckline and the
long tapered sleeves were fashion-
ed at the wrists with self-covered
buttons The full lace skirt was
worn over crinoline She carried a
bouquet of red rosebuds and liliesof-the-valley
atop a white Bible
Her only jewelry was a strand of
pearls a gift of the bridegroom
Miss Diana Evans was brides-
maid Miss Carolyn Sumners and
Miss Janet Sumners sisters of the
bride were candlelighters
