STATEWIDE POLL
SHOWS VOTERS ARE
PREPARING A BIG
SURPRISE FOR THE
POLITICAL "GANG"
ON NOVEMBER 6
A statewide poll of voters being made by our prepre-
sentatives is sLowing Pine leading Mar land for Govern-
or in four-fifths of the counties with the stampede
gaining momertum at this stage The result in 20 of
the 77 counties published in several daily newspapers
last Sunday showed Pine had 587 percent and Mar-
land 413 per cent in a total poll for the two of 38719
Since that compilation 15 other counties have report-
ed with addition:3 to three on the first list
In the later tabulation of poll reports from 35 counties
Pine is shown to be leading Mar land by 35811 to
26446 in a total of 62257 This gives Pine 573 per-
cent On this ratio a total vote for the two of 60000
in the State would give Pine 343800 and Mar land
256200
The poll is not confined to cities and towns but in-
cludes many rural districts It is developed that a sur-
prising shift to Pine as against Mar land is in progress
among the farmers and no poll without them would
be of any value A strong support for Green the
Socialist candidate is noted in some sections of the
State but it was not taken in the poll
