On Wednesday,
August 10, Superinten-
dent Leroy Corbett was
notified by various
departments of the State .
Department of Education
that the Following grants
would be awarded to
Olive for the 1988-1989
school year.
1, Small School Grant of
$10,000. to establish a
satellite receiving station
and supporting materials
in order to teach German
and Physics in co-
operation with Oklahoma
State University.
2, A comupter Educa-
tion Grant of $9,000 to
help set up a computer
Lab based upon a net-
work system. At a special
board meeting held Tues-
day August the 16th.,
Leroy Corbett,
Superintendent recom-
mended that the district
at least match these
funds in order to
established a quality
Computer Education Pro-
gram for the district’s 450
students. The Board ap-
proved an additional
$16,000. to assist with the
program. These funds
will be usee to purchase
20 Apple II Computers. 3
printers and soft ware.
The network is expected
to be operational by Sept.
15..

tion Grant of $3,700.
