neighborhood of Walter O T Friday
evening inflicting damage to life and

west to southwest The town of Wal-
ter was badly torn up but no one was
injuried casualties being only in the
country so far as known Property

The storm that swept over the south-
ern and the southeastern parts of
Comanche country Friday afternoon
and evening was especially severe in
and around Walter The wind ass-
sumed soma of the apperance of
cyclone though the storm had no
regular course It apparod to jump
from place to place leaving the inter-
vening spots uninterupted One fat-
ality is reported as far as known Mrs
Thomas Paine residing near Walter
was killed and the Paine house totally
destroyed Mrs J W Gill was seri-
ously injured internally and there is
little hope for her recovery
J B Paco reports great devastation
by the Friday storm commencing at
Charlie King place S miles north of
here The storm toro up trees and
the hail Utterly beat the growing crops
to shreds from there west of Coman-
che and on the Johnson farm destroy-
ed all crops then left a scope of coun-
try near Geo Vaughts then came down
on Woolsey and destroyed a great
many buildings and ruined the crops
iu that vicinity for miles
The merchants of Comancho are
furnishing the farmers with cotton
seed to replant their cotton

should bo appointed and that an effort

ting another rail road for Addington"
We the committee therefore have
decided to appoint a committee ' of

mittees have a meeting at aa early v
date to the end that some action bo
taken with a view to push every

dington and all who are in any way in-

assistance possible that our effort may
bo crowned with success Let us work
together for a emmon cause and for the
upbuilding of a greater Addington

Last Saturday while Cow Creek was
overflowing Lewis Harvill Ed Cecil
Bob Campbell Sid Pace Roy Camp-
bell and Tom Hartzog waded from the
railroad crossing to the bridge neat'
town and then took a dire off the
bridge and went down main - stream
like a drove of mud ducks for several
miles
