Basket Dinner and Children s
Day at Leonel
After morning service at Can-
ton we drove to Leonel to make
the address at their Children s
Day exercise. As we neared the
school house we were surprised
to find a large number of autosj
and teams on the campus. Go-
ing upstairs where they have a
large assembly room, we found
a packed house. The exercises
were just splendid showing good
leadership. The children showed
that they were equal to any chil-
dren anywhere, and the dinner
after the address, a revelation.
The ladies of that community
did. themselves proud. Each of
them should teach Domestic Sci-
ence somewhere. As far as the
writer knows Dick Green will
never be able to harvest this sum-
mer and Henry Hunt will be un-
der the doctor's care for some-
time. Well, all the men had a
good appetite and the preacher
tried to eat some of all the good
things, and he is just able to
write. We cist our vote for
Leonel.
We managed to reach Wild Cat
where we found another Chil-
dren's Eay exercise. We want
to cast another vote for Wild
Cat, as they are workmen that
needeth not be ashamed. Ev-
eryone out that way boosts the
church, Sunday School and En-
deavor. Long live both congre-
gations. The preacher managed
to get back to the church at Can-
ton at night, tired but feeling
like we had been blest.
