—Renfrow Tribune.
John Hickam will now begin
to make a real campaign for the
Progressive party and for him-
self for governor of Oklahoma.
The Republican machine
counts on the people's credulity,
the Democratic machine counts
on the people's partisan habits,
but the Pregressive party counts
on the people's good sense.—
Avar ' Tribune.
That the Progressives will
make a strong and winning cam-
paign is concluded from the fact
that they are now shaping one
of the most aggressive cam-
paigns ever put over in this
state.
An Illinois man is suing his
wife for divorce because she made
political speeches in her sleep.
This is a new cause for divorce,
but it ought to be a justifiable
one.—Comanche Reflex.
Wonder if the Reflex ever did
think that the lady who gave
him birth and being, had no
right to raise her voice in sup-
port of the government her son
should be reared in.—Tuttle
Times.
The fight in New York state
in the Republican party is wheth-
er Barnes, the boss, can dictate
the nomination for Governor or
whether the independent element
can nominate Hinman, the man
who Roosevelt endorsed. If
Barnes defeats Hinman for the
nomination, there is no question
but what Hinman will be placed
on the Progressive ticket.—
Fairview Republican.
Under the provisions of an act
just past by the Louisiana legis-
lature, the Republican party
passed out of legal status and
existance, as a party in that
state. The law requires that a
political party to be recognised
legally as such, must cast at
least 10 per cent of the total vote
of the state. Progressives pass
the test in Louisiana. Repub-
licans in 1912 did not come up to
the laws demand. So in one
state the Republican party is a
thing of the past—Gate Valley
Star.
Yes, and Oklahoma will furn-
ish some material for thought
along the same line this fall.—
Tuttle Times.
