On this question of national banks
the republican party is the avowed ad-
vocate, while all the other parties are
agreed against bank issue of money
and for government issue of all
money.
On the question of corporations,
trusts and svndidates the republican
party stands distinctly for them as is
evidenced by the enormous support
furnished by the trusts for the Mclvin-
ley campaign. On the same question
all the other parties stand distinctly
opposed believing that corporations

the law than citizens.
on the free homes question.
All parties ir. Oklahoma are agreed
and there can be no issue between can-
didates who represent on that point
the same policy. But is there a differ-
ence of personality and probable ener-
gy in pushing this just demand? Mr. _
Flynn has been in congress four years,
and having been elected on that issue.1 jLj
succeeded by intrigue with Speaker $

lower house and now to find it tied up
in the senate with the Lacey general
amendments attached, which forces it jfe
back to the house for concurrence.
Here Mr. Lacey's bill takes piece jjr
dence, and will pass or be rejected be-
fore Mr. Flynn % can again come up.
These two bills are now identical ex-
cept in name and number, so Mr.
Flynn's can never get through the
House unless Mr. Lacey voluntarily
withdraws his general Free Homes
Hill, Mr. Lacey himself substantially
states this in a letter whicl^the repub-
licans are using in support of Mr.
Flynn, dated Oct 10th. He is a com-
panion republican and. of course, does
what he can for his friend Mr. Flynn,
but mark his language which we here
quote exact:

Major Mc Kinley's Help Sought.
Oklahoma City, Ok la., June 23
Hon. D. T. Flynn:
Dear Dennis: Of coursc, with the changes likely to
come between now and election day, there is no foreseeing
where we may be at by that time. But the present pros-
pects are that, owing to the financial plank in the national
platform, yon at ? likely to have a warm chase. Of course
you understand that the platform suits many of us, but
this does not change the fact that there is a very strong sen-
timent against it in Oklahoma.
This leaves you to make your race principally upon the
free home plank. Having done this before, it will not be
so easy this time. And when you point to the fact it is in
the national platform, they will at once call attention to the
almost innumerable things that have been put into national
platforms before and then disregarded.
It just strikes me that if you had some way of calling
Major Mc Kinley s attention to the situation that he might
give the matter bare mention in his letter of acceptance. A
single sentence in way of approval of this declararatton
would enable yon (.0 go before the people with assurancf
that the bill woUld be signed.
A very little thing like this might save your scalp, per-
haps you think yon are in no danger; and probably you are
not. Yet it is powerful hard to say just now; for you
know you are placcd at a disadvantage both by the g
provision and the addition of Greer county.
