The illustrated edition of the
Sparks Review, was a detiiment
to the town. The town could
have been boomed in print, but
them street yiews give it away
as insignificant. The Chandler
cuts were all right.
Last year we advocated street
lair. Nothing better can be
conceived of to attract a crowd
from afar. It will cost but little
and will pay. We have good
crops, good specimens ot grain,
fruit, and vegetables.
The sad intelligence has reach-
ed this office that on last Satur-
day, J. II. Hum and son, lorm-
erlv of this place, were both
drowned in the lake at 1 ecum-
seh, Oklahoma. He has for
some time past been temporari-
ly stopping at Tecumseh, Okla-
homa, thai his children might
go to Business College. Mr.
Hum owns two or three farms
near here and city property.
And he was a weekly reader of
the Patriot, and a good man ol
which everybody has a good
word. It was a sad occurrence
indeed.
