Negroes Kill White Family-
Swearing vengence upon the brutal
negroes who murdered a man and
his wife in cold blood five miles
northeast of Chickasha, I. T., last
Sunday night a posse of enraged cit-
izens formed heavily armed, and
declared they will not return until
the blacks are trailed to earth and
shot to death.
No sooner had this report gained
circulation than a posse of blacks
formed and started out from Chick-
asha for the purpose of protecting
the assailants from the white mob.
Entering a railroad camp where
the white family was living, It 13 al
leged, the negroes proceeded to kill
the man then his wife and but for
the interference of neighbors would
have murdered the little girl.
A special train has been Bent out
over the Rock Island to the scene
every possible effort will be made to
surround the assailants.
Feeling Is Intense and more citl
zena are hourly arming theuiselvet
for the purpose of assisting in the
man hunt. Bitter feeling exists be-
tween the two races owing to a
lynching lust July when a negro paid
the penalty for just such ^ crime and
a bloody race war stems to be Im-
minent.
There is no direct wire service be-
tween this city and Womack and re-
ports as to developments are prsctic
ally unobtainable — Guthrie Dally
Leader.
Later It was learned that n white
man only bad been beaten by the ne-
groes and no one was killed and the
officers arrested and land, d In the
