Simmons, both of whom reside near
Frederick, were married yesterday by-
Judge Arms' rong, but not until the
groom had thoroughly investigated
the prices charged for matrimovial
ceremonies. He called at the probate
judge's cfflce and inquired th" price
and when told that it was three dollars
he prolested tiiat the figures .were ex-

for a notary public to tie the knot but
none of them would undertake it. fi-
nally he and the bride came up before
Justice Armstrong. When toid that
the price was 83.00 he said "that is too
much for a man residing-on a gravely

the book" demanded the prospective
groom. When shown the statute he
said "its in the book, ain't it? Hi-was

Some time ago it was thought that a
rural mail route was to be established
through this neighborhood, but it
seems now as if we will have to wait
awhile before we can enjoy such a
convenience. A mail route cannot
cross Cache creek until the proposed
new bridges are completed and the
territory east of Cache creek is not
large enough to justify a route. After
ihe bridges are completed a new route
may be started, running west of Elgin
through Richards and tho territory
west of it. A routs running southeast
from Apache traverces the north part
of this township.
