More About Prague.
Arlington, O. T., July 4, 02.
Editor Chandler News:
Will say we had the pleasure of attending
one of the best Fourth of July celehiations
in the new town of Prague that we ever
had the privilege to enjoy. We were as-
sured when we first arrived on the ground
that we would have protection, that the
town was well organized and that officers
had been appointed to keep order. Will
say that we have been going to Fourth of
July celebrations for 40 years but have
never attended one where such perfect
order prevailed. Everybody was happv.
All honor and credit was due the people of
Prague for the faithful work done in mak-
ing the day pleasant for all. More than
two thousand p#ople were on the grounds
and with all this great and mixed multitude
not one single thing happened to disturb
any one. This is one thing new under the
sun. With such men as the business men
of Prague we could not expect anything but
success. The committee had a nice pro-
gram for the occasion, had splendid music,
and also furnished a nice brass band that
rendered good service. Those who failed
to attend have certainly missed a tre. t.
Prague is going to be one of the best towns
in Oklahoma. Sucjess to the News.

Wellston's Fourth.
Wellston had a big celebration last Fri-
day with 3,000 people in attendance. The
Stillwater Cornet band furnished music for
the occasion. G. A. Neeley read the Dec-
laration of Independence and delivered the
address of welcome, and A. A. Beasler also
addressed the audience. A sham battle be-
tween a detachment of Co. "B" and some
of the civil war veterans was an interesting
feature of the dav's program. A good fire-
works display was givers at night.
Lincoln County School Board Meeting:.

teachers' association and how can they be
induced to attend? J. C. Barker.
Genera' discussion What constitutes a

ence the school board in the selection of a
teicher, wages or the ability to accomplish
results? W. H. Fal is.
All school boards of the country are earn-
estly requested to be present ,,nd take part
in these discussions.
The next regular t • ichers1 examination

Special Correspondence to The News.
Miss Lena Brown of Rossville, spent the
Fourth here with friends.
Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Johnson returned
Saturday to their home in Oklahoma City.
Guv and Jennie Slack from near Chan-
! dler, have been visiting old friends here for
a few days.
Clifton's Fourth celebration was a great
I success. Every one turned out to see the
j parade and went with it to the grounds,
J where during the day there was music by
'the band and glee club and speaking hy
Judge Sweet, Hon, Chas. Brown and Rev.
Cansler. In the afternoon Clifton played
ball against Mills and beat them badly. Mr.
Bulas of Rossville, won in the horse racing
and Owen Kelly came out ahead in the sack
race. At night there were fireworks which
were very pretty. The band was highly
complimen'ed on their music and will con-
tinue to progress.
Dr. W. J. Wallace of the firm of Drs.
Minor & Wallace, was operated upon Tues-
day by Dr. Minor for hemorrhoids, fissure
and ulcer of the rectum. He underwent
same nobly without chloroform or use of
the knife, and was soon as cheerful as ever.
This certainly proves the confidence they
have in their treatment and we trust his re-
covery may be rapid, for such a man is truly
a benefactor and any community may justly
feel proud of his ability.
