I Attest':
1). 15. Wynne, J- Haniei.,
County Clerk. Chairman,
eonveiitimt lt«M'"i'f •
In discharge of the duty intrust-
ed to us by the members ot the
Cleveland County Sunday School
I Convention held in Norman, Octo-
i ber 15 and 10,1807; we your commit-
tee beg leave to submit the follow-
ing report:
j l. Recognizing the Christian re-
ligion as the means ordained of
God for perfecting our individual
! lives, for preserving the purity and
sanctity of our homes, for niniii-
taining a genuine spirit of brother-
ly love in society; and recognizing
the Sunday school as an institution
signally owned by Clod for increas-
ing our knowledge of His word
and will, and quickening us in the
discharge of Christian duty, we
pledge it to our financial support,
our labor and our prayer, for the
year that is before us.
2. In view of the fact that a very
large part of those who accept
Christ as their personal Saviour,
do so early In life, we urge upon all
workers, whether parties, teachers
or believers, engaged in other
fields to keep before the young the
importance of personal faith in
Christ, and obedience to His com
tnandments, and we will try to
make our Sunday schools more ef-
ficient means of bringing the
young to Christ.
3. We acknowledge the obliga-
tions of the Sunday school to be
loyal to the denominational inter-
est of the branches of the church
with which they are connected,
where organized under the super-
vision of denominations and claim
in return that it is the duty of
church members to encourage the
work of the Sunday schools in
every way in their power.
4. To our county and territorial
officers we return our most hearty
thanks for their unselfish devotion
to this work in which they have
met with discouragements that we
know not of. We return our thanks
to the people of Norman who have
hospitably opened their homes for
the entertainment ol delegates and
to all who have assisted by prayers,
songs or discourse in making the
program interesting and profitable.
5. Finally we desire to mention
bv name as especially worthy of
our gratitude, Rev. A. P. George of
Hutchison, Kansas, Rev. K. Case of
Edmond and lvlderf lark Braden of
Missouri whose discourses have
been to tisj so much of instruction
and inspiration.
Respectfully submitted.

Andrew Jackson is the subject of

and is the first of a series of papers
on the life, times and compatriots
of the popular hero, which will run
in that magazine for several
months. A Oakey Mall contributes
his first article, which is illustrated
with excellent drawings by H. N
Eaton, and portraits and relies ol
"Old Hickory." Another attractive
article in this number is "i'Ii Mo
qui Indian Snake Dance," by Lieu-
tenant 15. H. Plumu.er, will, ph.it .
graphic reproductions of different
phases of the dance, l.ieu there is
a paper on "The l'isberfolk ol Scot-
land," by M. 15. Leicester Addis, al-
so well illustrated. The college ar-
ticle this month, the twelfth in ll.is
magazine's series, treats of Colum-
bia University, and is by J. 1'rederic
Thome. Other interesting tilings
in the number are: "Amidst the
Shades of Utnbrain Painters," by
15. C. Vansittart; "Mexican Cus
toms," by Annetta Halliday-Anto-
na; "The River Kden," by Rimbalt
Dibdin; "Some Curious Duels," b>
J. Cuthbert Hadden and a paper
on Lord Mayor's Day, describing
the ceremonies attending the iu
stallatlon of London's chief magis
trate. There are a number of cl< v
er short stories; a particularly
bright young folks department
