Free homes tor the settlers ot
old Oklahoma was u democratic
measure, while troni §1.50 to
$2.M) per acre tor the Cherokee
was a republican' measure, the
cost ot these lands to the settlers,
many ot whom are struggling
against the severest adversity
and hardships, is about equal to i
the assessed valuation ot all the
property ot Oklahoma. Every
consideration of justice demands
that the homes ot settlers upon
the lands ot Cherokee strip be
made tree. To accomplish this
act ot justice, the democracy ot
Oklahoma have declared in most
emphatic terms their determina-
tion ot accomplishing this most
desirable object.
Their platform not only de-
clares for free homes, but tree
and unlimited coinage ot silver,
confined to the American pro-
duct, and immediate statehood
tor Oklahoma. It the people ot thou
this territory desire the consuinn- tfimmlv !
tion ot these objects they will
readily see that the only sure

They dont want money based on
