Newspaper Men, Past
And Present, Billed
To Have Regular Feed
At an impromptu meeting of
Messrs. J. O. Fox, W. J. Hess and
Joe Meyer, Jr., this morning, it was
decided to get all the "ex" and pres-
ent Norman newspaper men together
and have a "reg'lar feed."
Ed Ingle, John Allan, J. O. Fox,
W. J. Hess and J. J. Burke have all
.seen more or less service in the
newspaper game in Norman, and
probably could offer much advice to
the ones now in reign.
The question of finance was duly-
taken up and the privilege of paying
the expense was voted to J. J. Burke.
It was the consensus of those
present that he was the only one in
the whole bunch who had any
money.

Girl Who Wrote
To Lonely Gob
Will Marry Him
Two years ago Richard L. Hill, a
naval yeoman at the Brooklyn navy
yard, published in the Oklahoman an
appeal to Oklahoma girls for letters
saying he would be happy if he had
some one to write to from France.
He received twenty-five leters but
soon culled down the correspond
ence to three, with whom he began
I a regular exchange. One, especially,
interested him, he says. She is Miss
I Nina Britt, a teacher in the El Reno
I schools, whose home is at Ada.
"It seemed to me," he said yester-
day, "that she had a part in every-
thing I did. She meant so much to
me that I could not let her go."
Hill was discharged in December
and immediately re-enlisted. He was
transferred to Mare Island, Cal., and
granted a thirty-day furlough.
The climax to his long distance
courtship came last week when the
young woman, who exceeded expec-
tations, allowed him to order an en-
gagement ring, and promised him
that she would wait until his dis-
charge in 1922.
Miss Britt is quite well known
here, having visited friends at dif-
ferent times. She will spend the
week-end here, the guest of Mrs. E
M. Slover and family at 124 West
Eufaula.
