The Red Cross in Cashion was
organized the latter part of last
week when a number of King-
fisher people came over for that
purpose. This organization is an
auxiliary to the Kingfisher or-j
ganization, as only one charter is I
granted to a count;'. Mrs. I. ,
Stone was appointed Chairman.
Mrs. Melville Carter, Secretary
and Treasurer. Up to the pres.;
ent time twenty-five members 1
have been secured and $ic.oo in j

here has been retarded, but.
Cashion always gives generously j
to any good cause and there is no j
doubt but that she will do her |

Sunday, July 1st is the date
set aside for Food Saving Day
by Herbert Hoover. Federal
Food Commissioner. He hasi
requested all ministers to ad-
dress their congregations with
regard to saving of food on
that date. Rev. Anthis will
deliver a sermon on this topic
at the Christian church Sun-
day evening at 8 o'clock. It
is your duty as a citizen to
get what information you can
with regard to the food situa-
tion. Attend the sermon Sun-
day evening that you may be
better fitted to help Save the
Waste and Win the War.

Red Cross Over Subscribed
Washington June 2 9 —With
the $100,000 000 gOttl passed, the
country started today to roll up
an over subscription in the Red
Cross fund.
At noon reports here showed
a total of $101,000,000, with
telegrams raining in from all
sections of the country promising
m re, altho the camgaign is of-
ficially enJed.
Atlanta, depite its 5.000,000
loss by fire recently, promised
$250,000. Cleaveland which start-
ed out to raise $2,000,000 today
reported $4,619,576 and wired
"*ve are still going". In the race
with the Ohio metropolis Chicago
led Cleaveland today by a bare
$153,000.
The storm that struck here
j about eight o'clock Saturday eve-
I ning was one of the worst that
; has visited this section this year.
1.4 inches of rain fell during the
night, but the arrival of the rain 1
was preceeded by a high wind j
land dust storm. The wind did 1
| considerable damage. Several '
small buildings were blown over,
porches were blown off houses, 1
glass blown out of store fronts
and a number of trees were
blown over. The rain that foll-
owed the storm was badly needed
for spring crops, nnd while some
of the wheat was standing uncut it
was not badly damaged. Cut-
ting was resumed Monday.
The A. B. C. Goes
To The Country
The Adult Bible Class met at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. John
Chitwood on Wednesday evening
]une 13th. About twenty-five of
the members were there to enjoy
the genial hospitality of the Chit-
wood home. The evening was
hapily speut in laying plans for
the future of . the class and in
wholesome, mirth provoking
games. After a pleasing climax
of ice cream and cake, all return-
ed to their homes believing more
strongly than ever in the A. B. C

Lester's Barn Burns
During the storm last Satur-
day night lightning struck Geo.
j Lesters' barn. The barn and
contents, including his harness
a cow and three calves were burn-
ed. This is qiiite a heavey loss
and was partially covered by in-
surance.
H. Pugh resigned his job as
town marshal Monday evening.
