Married
On Thursday, November 27,
1913, at the home of Mr, ancl Mrs.
T. H. Ross occured the marriage
of their neice, Miss Arvilla Cole,
of Cashion* Okla , to Robert
Smith. At one o'clock p. m. the
ceremony was performed by Rev.
H. M. James, of Hinton, after
which followed congratulations
and dinner. One can hardly find
words to express in suitable terms
what there was there to cat, but
it was certainly a good dinner,
.ind one long to be remembered.
After dinner Ed Smith took the
newly weds on a real auto joy
ride after which the guests extend,
ed to Mr. and Mrs. Ross their
hospitality. The next day they
were equally well entertained at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. L.
Smith.
The bride is an accomplished
young lady, having been in the
community but a short time, al
though she can count her friends
by the hundreds. The groom is
a "native" and is well known as
an industrious young man. They
will be at home on the J.E. Sears
farm for the coming year, and
they go to housekeeping with the
will wishes of the entire commun-
ity.—Custer Courier.

Difference Between a
City and a Country Dollar
Many farm boys rush off to
town and most city boys never
consider the country, because
they do not know that a dollar
on a real farm is nearly twice as
effective as a dollar in the midst
of a city. The young man who
rents a farm also rents a house,
and has no house rent to pay. He
has chickens and eggs, and a gar-
den and fruit and milk, and often
tire wood. As a by-produfct of
the farm, he has a horse to drive.
In fa6t, much of the family ilv-
ing is a by-produdi of the farm.
The young man in the city with
$100 a month must pay rent ;every
or turnip or apple , that he
gets he must buy. If he rides,
he pays car fare; his clothing
coi-ts more than the farmers, and
on every hand he meets more
temptations to spend money. The
man in the city with $1,000 a
ytjar is poor, and the man with
$2,000 must look for a plain street
when he rents his house. In the
real country, $1,000 net,a year is
usually comfort, and $2,000 is af-
fluence.
It is a national misfortune that
the differing value of the country
and the city dollar is so little un-
derstood. Had it been thorough-
ly grasped in time, it would have
been the -making of thousands
and tens of thousands of farmers.
