Description: Photograph of a UNIDENFIED man kneeling in a newly constructed terrace outlet. The back of the photograph proclaims, “Terrace outlet constructed with plow. 10 ft. wide at top and 20 ft. wide at bottom, in 1948. Seeded to 50 lbs. wild rye with a small amount of western wheatgrass; fertilized with 200 lbs. 5-10-5. One terrace was constructed in the fall of 1949. Follow-up on Okla-9899.”

Description: Photograph of revegetation. Cattle eating weeping lovegrass. 20 acres of weeping lovegrass had been fertilized with 100 pounds of 33-5-0 fertilizer plus 50 pounds of 0-45-0 fertilizer this spring [1960] before last year’s growth was mowed. This pasture was stocked with 24 cows with calves by their side on April 18, 1960. They will be weighed at the end of the growing season to determine the pounds of gain per acre. OK-954-12.

Water Conservation; Water Erosion; Flooding and Prevention

Description: Photograph of stock water pond. Pipe installations are 16 inches [in diameter?], ½ inch thick and 180 feet long with 4 seep rings, each 6 inches square. The stockwater pond was constructed under a pooling agreement with the adjoining landowner, Ralph Ottinger. Also designed to store floodwater to protect bottomland on 3 farms below.
