The Trader Company was started in 1909 by the Trader Compress Company of Fort Worth, Texas. There are thirteen acres under shed with a storage capacity of 50,000 bales. Storage of Altus Compress

Description: Caption says, "A-58 Altus Project. Photograph of the interior of one of the large storage sheds of the Altus Compress. The baled cotton received from the many gins throughout the area is rebaled in large presses which reduces the size of the bales about one-third. After passing thru the press the bales are stored in sheds like above, awaiting shipment. The total storage of the sheds of the Altus Compress is 16,500 bales."
