Description: Photograph of multiflora fence and hedge which was the first one planted in the district. Cecil Keylon, SCS, inspecting the condition of fence. This hedge is on the north side of a pine planting made in 1955. It is a good plant for fence, hedge and for wildlife cover.

Description: Photograph of Bermuda grass seed. The seeding and fertilizing rate was 1/2 pound hulled NK-37 Bermuda seed with 125 lbs. 10-20-10 per acre at seeding time. Seed was mixed with fertilizer and planted in shallow furrows 18 inches apart with an EZEE-Flow fertilizer spreader with “Pray” furrowing device attached. OK-894-10.

Used for grazing, lawns, erosion control, outlet channels and pasture outlets. Widely adapted to soils where climatically adapted. Best on clay and loam types. Description: Photograph of vetch in Bermuda grass. It is furnishing green forage high in protein when most needed. Soil Conservation service personnel developed a basic plan with Mr. Standley Maddox and he is rapidly carrying out the treatment needed. Vetch 6 inches high on October 21, 1959, is good pasture for cattle. This segment of the Little Wewoka Watershed will yield little silt to stress channels. OK-1017-10.

The large sample was taken where litter was in good condition and considerable stubble from previous years growth remained. The range where the small sample came from had been burned the previous September. Ground temperatures were from 5 to 6 degrees warmer. TX-45-943.

Description: Photograph of blue grama grass drilled with a SCS drill in June, 1948. 1948 and 1949 were dry years and little grass showed up. In 1950, good rains fell and now grass covered borrow ditch of water spreading terraces. Some weeping lovegrass and Lehman's lovegrass are present. TX-47-310.
