The Arkansas Rivier shown as cutting away valuable farm land in a sharp bend in Section 30, Township 10 North, Range 27 East. [near Sequoyah, Oklahoma]. The large chunks of earth, covered with a good cotton crop, came off and washed away. OK-10/2406.

Roadside Erosion Control

Description: Photograph of Severe gullying of roadside channels has been halted by sloping and sodding the banks and sodding the slopes to Bermuda grass. Work completed last part of June, 1940. Roadsides are now being utilized for terrace outlet channels. When work was started, the gullies on each side of the road were cutting back into the fields and damaging the fence. Yukon Camp.

Grass, Legume and Forb Cultivation

Description: Photograph of Rhodes Grass Pasture Planted. Planted in 36 inch rows in 1939. This area has been mowed for hay twice this year, has been lightly grazed and is now almost ready for the third cutting. A complete cover has been attained. Absence of weeds is a result of mowing and proper management of the pasture. TX-40, 534.
