Loss in the fire which started about 5 PM was estimated at more than $125,000 by Mr. M. G. Peppers, Oklahoma City oil man, who sold it to Dr. Paul Champlin in 1942. A short circuit in a basement wire apparently touched off the blaze, fireman said. It was Enid's second major fire in one week."
