The Driver suffered a fractured pelvis and internal injuries. His car skidded into the island after a collision with an automobile driven by Conner H. Roy Burton, 61, of 1300 NE 50. Burton was charged with failure to yield the right of way."

Another passenger, Rose Mae Gaulden, 5, of, of 218 N Blackwedler, suffered a broken shoulder. Police said the car was involved in an accident with one driven by Ernest Davenport, 45, of 33 S Indiana. No charges were filed."

George O. Enger, 59, of 615 NW 52, a Tinker field industrial auditor, died in Mercy hospital two hours after his late model car was struck by a Rock Island passenger train at the Air Depot road crossing." Train Rains, Kills Cityan, State Traffic Deaths 1956 to date, 623: December, 7 1955 to date, 537; December, 6: "A Tinker field industrial auditor, George O. Enger, 59, of 625 NW 52, was killed Tuesday morning when his late model automobile was struck by a Rock Island passenger train at the Air Depot road crossing east of the city. Trooper Pat Walsh said Enger was traveling south on Air Depot road about 7:15 a.m. when his auto was struck broadside by the passenger train. The car was demolished. Trooper Walsh said it looked like it had "exploded." The automobile was knocked to the south of the tracks into a ditch and Enger's body landed 10 feet away. He was taken to Mercy hospital suffering multiple injuries and died at 9:10 a.m. The automobile was so completely shattered, two trucks were required to haul the wreckage away. James D. Bellah, 17, of 506 W Rickenbacker drive, Midwest City, told Trooper Walsh he was driving behind Enger and thought the victim had cleared the tracks ahead of the train. Bellah said he applied his brakes, skidded into a sign post and narrowly missed striking the train. Engineer of the train was H. C. Hight, Shawnee."
