Members of the Hi-Way Club
met Friday afternoon at the home
of Mrs. O. L. Cherry. Owing to so
much illness among the members
only five answered to the roll call.
During the business session it
was voted to donate t250 to the
Red Cross. A round table discus-
sion was held the topic being "Care
of Furniture.
At the close of the meeting the
hostess served a delicious refresh-
ment plate. The next meeting will
be held on April 7th in the home of
Mrs. Dixon.

Annual Dinner
For Husbands .
One of the important social
events of the week was the an-
nual dinner at which members of
PEO enteXained their husbands
the BIL's of the organization.
The affair was held Tuesday
evening at the Legion Hut. Dinner
was served at seven o'clock from
tables arranged In the form of an
X with central decorations of an
antique silver candelabra holding
tall white tapers. The tables had
bowls of jonquils placed down their
length alternating with groups cf
three candle sticks holding white
tapers. Spring flowers were placed
on tables and on the piano.
' After dinner a sing-song was led
by Mrs. Boyd Gllkey with Mr. Gil-
key at the piano. A skit was given
by several members and special vo-
cal selections were presented by
Mrs. Arden Boothe.

and then Sicily. We came in on
the second wave and fighting was
at Us height. We fought ail throui.li
the campaign and then retired to
Palermo to rest for the trial
ahead.

shine has been a living hell far U.
We have encountered much stiff
opposition but slowly and steadily
we are pushing them back to their
BOSS. Rain and snow and moun-
tainous terrain plague us but they
rant stop the American Spin:.
Many have died and many more
will fall but when this Is all over
we will return to a better hap-
pier. healtliier world. Gcd rrent
