zaar conducted ly the Walters schoo’
will be held in the Dyer building op-
posite the postoffice December 20
beginning at 2 :30 and continuing
through the afternoon and evening
Hundreds of pretty and practical si
tides -Suitable for Christmas persents
will be on sale The room will be
very attractive with beautiful decor-
ations mi sic and the serving of re-
freshment i On Saturday morning a
bake sale will be held at the same
place by tf e Junior Red Cross Como
and help make this bazaar a success
Proceeds go to the Red Cross

Little Rock' Ark visited his family
in Walters last week He was cer-
tainly looking well ’
Judge Andrew Stuart of Oklahoma
City was in Walters this week getting
into the oil game
Judge Nestor Rummons of Okla-
homa City was in Walters this week
making placer filing on the bed of
Red River for oil

PUBLIC LANDS OF THE
8TATE OP OKLA-
HOMA
' THE COMMISSIONERS OF THliy
LAND OFFICE OF THE STATE OF
OKLAHOMA will receive sealed bids
for the leasing of the hereinafter des-
cribed tracts of the public state and
school lands of the state of Oklahoma
for oil and gas purposes All leases
will be made upon sealed bids to be
opened at the office of tbs Secretary
to the Commissioners of the Land Of-
fice at the hour of 2 o’clock P M on
the list day of December 1918 aud
said leases will be sold and such sales
made In accordance with the terms -and
conditions as hereinafter set out
Each of said tracts of land will be
leased separately to the highest and
beat bidder
Each bid shall be accompanied by a
certified check or bank draft in the
sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1000)
payable to the Commissioners of the
Land Office as a deposit of earnest
money to Insure the execution of the
lease by the bidder and the furnish-
ing of the bond aa required by law -Provided
that one deposit In tbe said
amount of One Thousand ($100000)
Dollars shall entitle the bidder to bid
on one or all of said tracts Said sum
of One -Thousand ($100000) Dollars
deposited by any bidder as earnest
money In compliance with this re-
quirement shall be returned to said
bidder If the bid of such bidder is not
accepted by the Commissioners of tbe
Land Office -
Bids upon oil and gas leases upon
each of such tracts will be received
separately and that each of said tracts
will be leased separately for a royalty
of one-eighth of the oil and gas pro-
duced thereon and to the highest re-
sponsible bidder subject to tbe right
of theCommissloners of the Land Of-
fice to reject any and all bids
Thd lands herein will be leased for
the period of five (6) years and as long
thereafter aa oil or gaa may be pro-
duced’ therefrom In paying quantities'
said leases will further provide that
If no well Is completed upon any tract
so leased within one year from the
date of the lease the lessee shall pay i
to the state of Oklahoma an annual I
rental In advance the sum of One !
($100) Dollar per acre which pay-
ment shall operate to defer the com-
pletion of the well during the year for
which rental is paid from year to year
during the term of the lease and Aid
leases will contain such other and fur-

In accordance with the rules and reg-
ulations of the Commissioners of the
Land Office and on forms approved by
the Commissioners of the Federal
Court having Jurisdiction therein
No bid will be considered that tends
to change or alter the time Iq which
drilling Is to commence the amount of
royalty or any other condition herein
set out
The number and description of the
tracts of land to be leased by the Com-
mlsiloners of the Land Office are as
follows to-wlt:

the laws of the State of Oklahoma au-
thorized and provided
A11 bonuses bid by the bidder for a
lease on any tract or tracts shall be
payable in cash at the time the lease
Is executed and delivered to the suc-
cessful bidder
Each bid must be on file with or de-
livered to the Secretary to the Com-
missioners of the Land Office upon
the date and hour set for the opening
of said bids If bid he sent in by mall
it must be sealed In an envelope and
marked thereon "Bid for oil and gae
lease" and placed Inside of another I
envelope plainly addressed to the Sec-
rotary to the Commissioners of the
Land Office and marked thereon “OU ’
and Oas Bid”
