Americans are warned to Itavu

about 15,000 Auier'oans are now
in Mexico. Congress will be

We do not care to take sides
with either Gov. Cruce or of the
legislature, though we can see
nothing i:i this matter but the
fight between the govenor and
the legislature, and the sooner
that is dropped and forgotten
the better it will be for both
sides as well as for the best in

reason why the Senate cannot
select a secretary of the election

TnACIiUN ENGINE SLASHED
The traction engine of Jack
Patrick, which was being driven
by Henry Foster, was demolish-
ed Monday afternoon three or
four miles south of town by the
4:40 north l ound Santa Fe pas-
sanger train. Mr. Foster was
driving the engine across the
railroad track to P. N. Kerr's
lower farm to thresh alfalfase-d.
Just as he was approaching the
track, which is rather a bad cros
sin?, he saw the train approach-
ing at fast speed around a curve
about two hundred yards away.
Foster jumped from the traction
engine and escaped without in-
jury, The engineer on the train
put on emergency brakes and re
versed his engine but the dis-
tance was too short to stop and
prevent injury.
The heavy engine struck 'he
traction engine square in the
middle and sent, the front wheels
to one side of the track and the
hind wheels to the other side,
completely demolishing the trac
tion engine, but the railroad en-
gine was not damaged scarcely

no one was hurt proceeded on its
