Wildlife Den Trees

Description: Photograph of a sycamore tree with a hollow which is used by squirrel or small furbearers for a den or shelter. In pine release such trees, as well as a goodly number of food trees, are left in order to provide food, cover and den trees for beneficial wildlife.

Seed Drying

Description: Photograph of Bob Hartley, 21 year old ranchman recently graduated from Okla. A&M, spreads sideoats grama grass on the floor of a cattle barn so the seed can dry without heating. The seed was brought in from combines which Hartley operated during the sideoats and the bluestem harvest. Paper sacks were used during a temporary shortage of other sacks. Hartley cut seed near Amarillo,m Texas, as well as in the Vinita vicinity.

Wild Fish Infestation

Description: Photograph of Arnold Snowden holding a carp that attempted to enter the lake from the creek, though the emergency spillway but was trapped by receding discharge. The flood storage with drawdown pipe reduces the number and duration of emergency spillway flows, thus reducing the hazards of wild fish infestation.
