Wilds' Fish Farm

Description: Photograph at Wilds' Fish Farm, NW 1/4 4-12-6. David Wilds with new spawn in left hand and older spawn in right hand. The facility was located near El Reno on Britton Road approximately 7 1/2 miles west of the intersection with Peidmont Road. Wilds' was a restaurant and recreation area.

Description: Photograph of alkali spots. Alkali spots forming after 2 tons of gypsum was applied in 1956. Before planting, the area on the left of drain remained untreated. The area to the right of the terrace was treated in 1957, applying 2 tons of gypsum per acre. Henry Kedding is present in the photo. OK-652-2.

Roadside Erosion Control

Description: Photograph of Severe gullying of roadside channels has been halted by sloping and sodding the banks and sodding the slopes to Bermuda grass. Work completed last part of June, 1940. Roadsides are now being utilized for terrace outlet channels. When work was started, the gullies on each side of the road were cutting back into the fields and damaging the fence. Yukon Camp.

Description: Photograph of two UNIDENTIFED men standing in an outlet constructed with a blade in 1948. The back of the photograph proclaims, “Outlet constructed with blade in 1948 – cost $40.00. Sodded to Bermuda in spring of 1949. Used 140 lbs. 5-10-5. Plowed under roots with 2-bottom plow, 4 inches deep. Will terrace when wheat is off.”
