Description: Photograph showing wind carrying silt onto a clean, cultivated field. Notice how the wind picks up the soil and carries it higher the further it travels. Also notice that the soil is not picked up until the wind has had a chance to gather momentum close to the ground. The soil in the foreground is not being carried as the end of the field is near, and the fence and vegetation act as a windbreak.
