Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific (RI) Train Wreck of 5017 on "Golden State Ltd."

Description: A photograph print showing the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific (CRIP, RI, or ROCK) 5017, 4-8-4, on RI train No. 4, "Golden State Ltd.", on its side, struck an auto at a crossing which then caught in switch points derailing the train about 6:40 pm, Jan. 23, 1938, just west of Topeka, KS. No one injured. Wreck cleaned up by K.C. Terminal and RI wreckers. [see also 2008.008.1035, 1036 & 5511]
